Project Pollen
For very the First time, Mckenzie Towne will be taking part in Project Pollen.
What is project Pollen?... It is a new initiative that utilizes the growth of dandelions to allow native pollinators to stock up on pollen and nectar, so they have food and energy to start pollinating.
Delaying the mowing cycle in designated areas as long as possible is one of the keys to healthier pollinators and greater biodiversity in both urban and rural green spaces.

The mowing of all public green spaces and fields in Mckenzie Towne (with the exception of sports fields) will be delayed during this critical pollination period.
Residents and businesses are urged to follow suit and join in the Project!
In an initiative to save the bees, MTC is also planting 80% perennial flowers this year. Many perennials bloom for long periods and provide consistent food sources for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Let’s all be sure to let our insect friends how much you care!
